Round 3 - Accusation PhaseAnd so it begins... and so it ends... the final round! Alydar sits and lets the Chaos begin...
Immediately, 10k, Iain7, and Freih all jump up and point at Cyrus. "He's cheating! Look at that roll!" They look at each other in surprise that they all said the same thing at the exact same thing. They're dumbfounded, but Iain7 shakes off the confusion first.
"Moritaka! You've been quiet this whole game! It's the perfect time for you to have cheated, and it's just too convenient that you still don't have a No Hand! ...one of you two must be cheating..."
Meanwhile, Freih for some reason takes offense to this and turns his accusatory finger toward Iain7. "You're the cheater here! You and Cyrus both! 4-5-6 and 6-6-6? Why... I know
mine was true, but two others getting that lucky? Not a chance!"
Chuckling, Alydar inspects the dice. Indeed, Iain7 did cheat! However, neither Cyrus nor Moritaka did. And so... the places change immensely!

Yes, and what a come-from-behind win that was! The player in dead last the turn before benefits from an insanely lucky Triple 6s, the best roll imaginable and pulls ahead to first by a wide margin!
Now to answer questions I'm sure you have. Yes, these were truly legit rolls. I've been using actual dice that I use often and thus can vouch for their credibility. But apparently, probability can't tell you everything... I rolled the dice for Round 3, checked them, checked again to see that it was real, triple-checked, then burst out laughing at how perfect it was as the final round. It was only after I wrote them down that I realized the 6-6-6 went to Cyrus, giving him a come-from-behind win if he didn't decide to rig his hands. It became just that much more perfect.
How I do the rolls: Each person is assigned a set of dice that is easily distinguishable from the rest, simply so I can roll them all at once. Each set is just as likely to roll any specific combination of numbers as any other. The dice are rolled before the round begins, and they're only changed if the player rigged their dice. This way, I can ascertain the validity of the dice while also keeping track of how rigging affected scores. I won't be revealing changes due to rigging or statistics on the off-chance that someone rigs their dice and is neither accused nor
Flies Under the Radar. However, I can give final percentages for the overall percentages rolled for the main game, if you guys would like to see that. I used these same dice for a no-rig playtest game, and I can also reveal the rolling stats for these dice now if you'd like.
An interesting tidbit: no player as of yet has rigged their hand to be worse than the hand rolled for them. The main round may show a change to that trend, but who knows?
Anyway, if a total of 2 rounds was enough to bring Cyrus down $90, and a third round brought Iain7 AND Freih down to or below $0 (from $100, assuming 1 Ante = $5), $100 definitely isn't enough for the game... Unless we want people dropping off early on, which would be boring for them. Thus, we'll have either a $200 or $250 starting amount. I'm leaning toward $200, but if you guys want to increase it to $250, I'd be okay with that.
Yet another interesting tidbit: in my no-rig playtest game (with 6 players instead of 5), there was a hand very similar to Round 3 here. The six rolls were 6-6-6, 4-5-6, 4-5-6, No Hand, No Hand, No Hand (not in that order). And out of all my rolls, there were exactly 8.33% 1-2-3 or greater rolls, which is as expected! Again, these dice ARE legit, even if they don't seem so at times... While players
could leave it up to luck, skillful accusations coupled with timely
Flying Under the Radar should determine the winner... unless you all leave it up to chance.
Congratulations to Cyrus for winning this rehearsal! Comment as you like, and I'll be announcing the start date after the Christmas chaos is over. In the meantime, relax, plot, and plan as needed. Oh, and good luck! Ahahahaha!
(Hey, look at that! I was actually on time this time! :
