In the wave of posts, I almost missed this!
...and so I mentioned. Yes, it's a game with luck, and luck shouldn't and pretty much cannot be eliminated from this game without getting rid of the flair that makes it what it is, and, frankly, what makes it interesting... However, if that luck can be too influential in determining the outcome of the game, it's less of a strategy game, which is what this forum is more designed for. If you'd notice, the "casino" games I've made really don't have much luck at all built into them...
Yes. The No Hand shouldn't be eliminated, and that part of the Fly Under the Radar shouldn't be "fixed" either, as it gets rid of part of what makes the game what it is. It's just not as interesting without that. Level 3 should likely be only $15 instead of $20, and the 1-2-3+ bonus maybe should be eliminated. The question is whether that's enough, but, frankly, I'm ready to move on to another game and leave this one in the dust. Maybe we can pick it up to work on for another time, but I don't think now's the time. Liar's Memory, anyone?

Since the control won against a "better" strategy of the game, something needs to change. To be honest though, my work did grant me an exclusive 50/50 chance at 1st/2nd place (Moritaka winning would have meant that nobody could overcome my lead), which is nice +EV if we were to redo round 3-4 for 100 times (chip refund vs. +12 chip gain? Sign me up!), and thus indicates that proper play gives a tangible advantage, but the control had better chances of making an upset than I want. Of course, stuff like this can and does happen in all sorts of gambling scenarios, and part of it could be that my strategy was weaker than I thought....and so I mentioned. The best changes I think are: level 3 be $15 and eliminate the bonus given out by 1-2-3+; I think these immediate changes should be able to balance the game. It's not possible to completely eliminate luck since it was built in as a mechanic for deception, but the $20 and 1-2-3 bonus played way more havoc with the variation than I anticipated (I did figure there would be some, but not enough to overcome a strategy which should have a strong edge against flat playing).Yes.
