Voting Phase 21The time ticks down, and Alydar goes to the back room. As the next song begins to play, he comes back with a loaf of bread and a toaster. And a knife. "Good news, everyone! The toaster that Kestrel won was returned to sender! Ahahaha, who wants to try?" The players all look at it suspiciously. The gold and black mask on the toaster, complete with the red and gold background makes it so majestic looking, though. Eventually they all give in. The bread and knife is sent around, as people cut their own slices. Ha. Ahahaha. Good luck. Votes10k: -1 votes Freih: -3 votes Cyrus: -4 votes 10k wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 6 and 20. They do indeed match, each with the name Freih, so 10k wins 1 point. The two cards have been flipped over in the first post and will remain flipped over for the rest of the game. There now exists another 4 point pair on the field! Will Freih be next to fall? You have only 24 hours to make a decision on who should be the next flipper. Remember to include which two cards you would like to flip over in the event that you win the flipper position. Also, 10k now has a four vote penalty, as he has gone for four turns. The twenty-second voting phase ends at 5:44 am GMT on Friday, March 8th, 2013. If you are missing either of your two pieces of information, you will be unable to win the vote, regardless of your vote score. Take care as you have only 24 hours of deliberation. If you would like to put a placeholder vote, so you don't get declared inactive, you may do so. Votes may continue to be changed until the end of the round, but make sure the votes you wish to have counted at the end of the round are the last votes you send in!

You're all good with the times, right? You all know there's about 3 hours left, right? Good. That's that.

Voting Phase 22The players take their time cutting slices of bread. As they put them into the toaster and depress the lever, the toaster quacks. Yes. It quacks. Eventually, everyone is sitting content with their toasted bread, and Alydar announces the result. He passes another loaf of bread around and gets the numbers from Freih. The cards are flipped over. But for whatever reason, they have jam on the other side, obscuring the name. Hmm... that's strange. Alydar tries to scrape the marmalade off, but it appears to have hardened. Well. That's a conundrum. "Hey, it doesn't matter, does it? I remember whose cards they were." Freih pushes down his next slices of bread into the toaster, and he says the name o- *HOOONK*The toaster explodes. Into confetti. Mixed with bread crumbs. And jelly. Where it stood is now a golden egg... ticking. Ticking... *BOOM*Well, that explosion may have been smaller, but it was in no means less effective! In fact, it may have been more so, as it blew the marmalade off Freih's cards! "What an amazing flip! With a 4-point pair, Freih's out of the- ... ... ... Ahahahahahahaha! Following in Iain7's footsteps, Freih takes himself out of the game! What a round! Ahahahahaa!!!" And so the next song begins to play, the last one for a little while, as the game draws to a close. VotesFreih: -1 votes 10k: -4 votes Cyrus: -4 votes Freih wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 21 and 36. They do indeed match, each with the name Freih, so Freih wins 1 point. As Freih now has no cards left on the board, he has been eliminated from the game. Players may no longer vote for him, and he may no longer vote. Additionally, Freih gets a bonus 3 points for eliminating... himself. Oh, and the two cards have been flipped over in the first post and will remain flipped over for the rest of the game. As we are now down to only two players, you don't have any choice of who to vote for - you vote for the other person. Since 10k has gone for only 4 turns and Cyrus for 5, 10k automatically wins this round! After that, it will be randomized every other turn, per tiebreaker rules. I'll be rolling a die (I don't happen to have a coin handy this time) to decide for randomization: Odd = 10k, Even = Cyrus. The first randomization will happen next turn. 10k has 24 hours to send in a decision on which cards to flip. If you know that you won't be changing it before the deadline, simply say something about finalizing it. If the vote is finalized, I'll end the phase when I get the vote and post the results. Of course, if you don't finalize the results, they will be posted at the end of the voting phase. Hopefully this will speed up the game! The twenty-third voting phase ends at 5:44 am GMT on Saturday, March 9th, 2013. If 10k does not send in a vote, the vote will pass to Cyrus for the next Voting Phase. This would not go without penalty, however. For every two times that a player is inactive (only counting when there are 2 players left; in total, not just consecutive), the LGT will reveal two of his cards (randomly chosen), taking the points for themselves.

Voting Phase 23Alydar looks at the two remaining players. 10 and 5. Interesting. "Alright. Without further ado, 10k, your-" *BOOOM* "-deCISION!"*ahem* "Yes, 10k. If we could have your decision, please? I believe its your time to flip cards." They are given! "Wow! What an amazing feat! 10k's done it, yet again! He's managed to score a matchless round! Congratulations!" Alydar begins applauding, as a die drops from above. "Ooooh... and it would appear that Cyrus will go next, to add injury to insult! Well then, Mr. C. Your cards, please? Ahaha!" ...and if you guys don't recall what blew up... you haven't been paying much attention. Votes10k: -3 votes Cyrus: -4 votes *Votes were automatic. This is just figurative* 10k wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 13 and 23. They do not match, so 10k wins no points. The two cards have been flipped over in the first post and will be flipped back over at the conclusion of the next voting phase. As we are now down to only two players, you don't have any choice of who to vote for - you vote for the other person. Since both 10k and Cyrus have gone for 5 turns, the next player to go will be randomized, per tiebreaker rules. I'll be rolling a die (I don't happen to have a coin handy this time) to decide for randomization: Odd = 10k, Even = Cyrus. The first randomization resulted in 4, so Cyrus will go next, followed by 10k. Cyrus has 24 hours to send in a decision on which cards to flip. The twenty-fourth voting phase ends at 1:42 am GMT on Sunday, March 10th, 2013. If Cyrus does not send in a vote, the vote will pass to 10k for the next Voting Phase. This would not go without penalty, however. Voting Phase 24
"Well, I believe you've thought long enough! Cyrus, would you please give me your decision?" Cyrus ponders for a while before finally speaking two numbers: 11 and 12. They are flipped. "Congratulations! Yet another match! And yet another self-hit! Ouch! Ahaha, with that, Cyrus gives himself a slightly greater lead but opens himself up for potential elimination... How long can he last against 10k? Ahahahaha!!!" Alydar turns to 10k. "Well, I believe it's your turn! Your final two pairs, and his final: which will it be? Or will you yet again fail in your clairvoyance? Make your decision, but take care of the time!"
Votes 10k: -4 votes Cyrus: -4 votes *Votes were automatic. This is just figurative*
Cyrus wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 11 and 12. They do indeed match, each with the name Cyrus, so Cyrus wins 1 point. The two cards have been flipped over in the first post and will remain flipped over for the rest of the game. There now exists another 4-point pair on the board. The twenty-fifth voting phase ends at 9:30 pm GMT on Sunday, March 10th, 2013. If 10k does not send in a vote, the vote will pass to the flipper for the next Voting Phase. Voting Phase 25
It seems we're at our final (?) rhyme, on round five by five. With one pair left and not his turn, will Cyrus stay alive? If there's a match, well, that is that, the end finally here. But with 10k's abysmal luck, is it truly so near? Again, again, these two cards miss, gone the luck since thirteen. So once again, we must continue til a match can be seen. Now, will the dice roll land even, or will luck fall with the odds? It spins and rests, a single pip, and to 10k Alydar nods. "Another chance to get your win!" says Alydar to the man. "Will you gain your luck at last, or will clairvoyance fail again?"
Votes 10k: -4 votes Cyrus: -5 votes *Votes were automatic. This is just figurative*
10k wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 13 and 33. They do not match, so 10k wins no points. The two cards have been flipped over in the first post and will be flipped back over at the conclusion of the next voting phase. There still exists a 4-point pair on the board. Will Cyrus go down the same route as Freih and Iain7? The end draws near... As we are now down to only two players, you don't have any choice of who to vote for - you vote for the other person. Since both 10k and Cyrus have gone for 6 turns, the next player to go will be randomized, per tiebreaker rules. Voting Phase 26
Almost immediately, 10k walks back up to Alydar and informs him of the numbers that he definitely wants to flip over. "Ha, you seem so sure of yourself. Well, since you've near exhausted the possibilities, why shouldn't you be? Your luck can't be that bad! Ahahahahaha! ...so, numbers 13 and 14? Well, we already know one of them is Cyrus, but have you found his other at long last?" ...no, there's no delay. "No! There's no match! With that, it's Cyrus' turn! Will he follow in Iain7's and Freih's footsteps, content with third place? Or will he risk it all in hopes that 10k can't get lucky again? Only time (and the next round) will tell! Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaa!!!"
Votes 10k: -5 votes Cyrus: -5 votes *Votes were automatic. This is just figurative*
10k wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 13 and 14. They do not match, so 10k wins no points. The two cards have been flipped over in the first post and will be flipped back over at the conclusion of the next voting phase. There still exists a 4-point pair on the board. I'll be rolling a die (I don't happen to have a coin handy this time) to decide for randomization: Odd = 10k, Even = Cyrus. The third randomization will happen next round.
Cyrus has 24 hours to send in a decision on which cards to flip. If you know that you won't be changing it before the deadline, simply say something about finalizing it. If the vote is finalized, I'll end the phase when I get the vote and post the results. Of course, if you don't finalize the results, they will be posted at the end of the voting phase. The twenty-seventh voting phase ends at 3:05 am GMT on Monday, March 11th, 2013. If Cyrus does not send in a vote, the vote will pass to the flipper for the next Voting Phase. FINAL RESULTS Cyrus ponders and gives Alydar his two numbers. Alydar seems distracted, and a long time passes before he realizes Cyrus has been standing next to him. "Ah, I'm sorry! I should be more active, but... you know, I just couldn't help but get caught up remembering the slow end of the last game! Ahahaha! Right. This could be the end of the game right here! Has Cyrus picked his own, safe in second place? Or did 10k's bad luck infect him too? The moment of truth! ...to be continued!" ... ... "Hmm? It's over? Ah! *ahem* Back where we left off, this is what this game is about! Who will win? Who will lose? Let's find out... now!" Alydar opens the envelope that he's holding and reads the contents out loud. " 'With a match, Cyrus claims his loss. And walks out winning... like a boss.' " With that, confetti rains down from above... on 10k, our final winner, who matches his own cards, eliminating himself... to stay in 4th place. "Well, you can't win everything, especially with such suicidal folk as these. Ahahahaha!" As Alydar tries to console 10k, the final musical number plays over the speakers. And with that, our recollection is complete, with all but two players recollecting their required sum! ...the scoreboard updates to show the final results and rankings. VotesCyrus: -5 votes 10k: -6 votes *Votes were automatic. This is just figurative* Cyrus wins the vote and decides to flip over cards 13 and 27. They do indeed match, each with the name Cyrus, so Cyrus wins 1 point. As Cyrus now has no cards left on the board, he has been eliminated from the game. Additionally, Cyrus gets a bonus 3 points for eliminating ...himself. With only one player left standing, 10k is our "winner"! As such, he removes the remaining pairs from the board, gaining himself another two points with another 3 bonus points for eliminating himself! Congratulations! Our final standings are as follows: 1st place: - Our third-standing, Freih with 10 points! If the Casino were still "open," he'd have gained 5 poker chips! 2nd place: - Our second- and fourth-standing, Cyrus and Iain7 with 9 points apiece! If the Casino were still "open," they'd each have gained 4 poker chips! 4th place: - The one who lasted to the bitter end, 10k with 7 points! If the Casino were still "open," he'd have gained 2 poker chips! 5th place: - Our first out, but not last, Kestrel with a mere 1 point. With the Casino closed, she escapes her debt of 4 poker chips! 6th place: - And finally, the second-last out, unlucky Moritaka with 0 points. With the Casino closed, he escapes his debt of 5 poker chips! And with that, our game is finally completed, after a full 27 rounds. The full board has been revealed in the first post. Congratulations for all your hard work and for making it as far as you did! I suppose we'll be moving on to our next game shortly. I hope you enjoyed this game and will further enjoy your experience in the Casino! Good luck! P.S. During Round 18, a tie was made and then later unmade. This led to me making an extra two songs, which I'm revealing now: one for the tie and the other in the event 10k had won (the randomization was done after the end of the game, to see what the effects would have had. and to complete the first song). So, if you're interested in them, go and check?
