Interesting... Then I say "lackadaisically", expecting a 150 degree turn... and suddenly shut up, not finishing the phrase.

You say "lackadaisically," and the gazebo does turn 150 degrees, as you expect! However, after a short time with no words spoken, the gazebo turns back 150 degrees to rest in its original position.

I say the phrase very slowly and observe if that changes the speed at which the gazebo rotates. If it does, I say the phrase slowly enough to make it rotate slowly enough to be able to press the button while it rotates (I may need to walk with, but I try not to if possible) and press it.

How long did you spend deciding how this machine would work, Lmao! I say a long string of random syllables (the lyrics to a song, say) and push every button /pull every lever while I speak

I say "chicanery" to see if the gazebo reacts. Then I press the button in the gazebo, after which I say the whole phrase. After the spinning is done I press the button again.

Christmas festivities are still taking my time, but I should be more free tomorrow. In the meantime, here's what happened with your investigations! I say the phrase very slowly and observe if that changes the speed at which the gazebo rotates. If it does, I say the phrase slowly enough to make it rotate slowly enough to be able to press the button while it rotates (I may need to walk with, but I try not to if possible) and press it. As each syllable is completed, the gazebo rotates forward 30 degrees at the same speed as before. If you wait too long, it starts to rotate back, but I assume you don't. You're unable to press it while it rotates. How long did you spend deciding how this machine would work, Lmao! I say a long string of random syllables (the lyrics to a song, say) and push every button /pull every lever while I speak Some of it was made up on the spot. Others have been floating through my mind for a while. And some have been planned and written down since the beginning. As syllables match up, the gazebo rotates. As gaps between relevant syllables appear, it begins to rotate toward the initial position. Pressing every button and pulling every lever that's been revealed that you can press... well, none of them do anything special. I say "chicanery" to see if the gazebo reacts. Then I press the button in the gazebo, after which I say the whole phrase. After the spinning is done I press the button again. The gazebo spins forward 120 degrees and then eventually slides back to its initial position. You press the button and say the phrase, and it makes a full 360 degree spin, after which you press the button. None of that does anything special.

You are unable to press it while it rotates. I attempt to do the following, and pay utmost attention to any happenings that intefere: I put my finger on the button inside the gazebo. I start saying the phrase very slowly, but continuously, and at the same time start walking around the Slot Machine at an angular velocity of 30 degrees per syllable, so that relative to the gazebo I don't move. While doing that, I push down, applying downward force on the button.

While doing that, I push down, applying downward force on the button. As soon as each syllable is completed, the gazebo turns 30 degrees at the same speed as normal, regardless of how slowly you speak the syllables. With your finger inside the gazebo, either your finger obstructs the gazebo from moving, your finger slows down the gazebo, so it doesn't make the full 30 degrees, or your finger gets hit and potentially injured by the gazebo's spinning. While you could move at the correct (and changing) velocity that the gazebo moves at, it would be difficult, and likely one of the three above things would happen. That said, I suppose you could still push down on the button, though it likely wouldn't be rotating the full amount that it normally would. ...and nothing happens anyway.

Ooops,it seems I misread the previous reply and thought that the gazebo spins slowly when I speak slowly... Since that's not the case, I attempt saying the phrase so quickly that the gazebo isn't able to keep up. Moving on from the gazebo for now, I try rotating the knobs 360 degrees counterclockwise while holding he button above the knob I'm rotating. I do that from right to left.

You trip over your words while trying to do this and fall flat on your face... heh, wordplay.Rotating the knobs 360 degrees counterclockwise while holding their respective buttons and proceeding from right to left does nothing special. You speak the words "Detect Good" and wave your hands at the mini gazebo. It does nothing. You feel nothing. There are no voices in your head telling you that the spell worked. So obviously it didn't! Well, if it didn't work the first time... ...you try again. Luckily, you stored Detect Good many times, as you knew you were entering a Casino! It's always good to be prepared! Once again, however, it doesn't work. ...but you have more spell slots! One more time... Yes! There's a voice in your head that says the following... "It's not good, 10k. It's a gazebo!" Huh. Well, that was a waste of spells... You prepare Detect Evil... to be continued?

I tell "You win!" to the house... I mean gazebo. - "You always win!" At the syllable "in," the gazebo rotates 30 degrees... and then spins back to its initial position... and then rotates again at "in..." and then spins back once again. (I don't believe there were any other syllables that match up, but if I missed any, assume they cause the gazebo to rotate 30 degrees as well, and the spinning back should be adjusted accordingly.)

I cast Detect Evil on the gazebo. And then kick it, for good measure.

I cast Detect Evil on the gazebo. And then kick it, for good measure. You cast Detect Evil. On the gazebo. Then you realize you're only a monk and have no spells. So you do a flying kick (your unarmed strikes have been effective in the past!) and strike it instead. Sadly, it appears unharmed, and you take [roll]1d4+1[/roll] damage in recoil. You wince slightly and stand up. ...the gazebo seems to be smirking at you. Evilly.
