So, Kawai gonna actually ally with Kimura group or is it an Akiyama ruse?

Well, the one thing that's for sure is that Akiyama has planned for this situation, even if it isn't directly engineered by him.

Putting forward a theory. The thing that's nagging me still is that Akiyama is aiming for something other than coins. Coz that's apparently what the game is about.
The thing is, it's a game. The game is about winning/losing, as well as about money. And Harimoto's team has 4 people, and they want everyone to get through. So, they need 4 good hands. Akiyama could be aiming to cripple that goal. He doesn't need to target the whole alliance, he needs to target one person who has few/no coins. Harimoto and Abe are already safe, so that leaves Mikamoto and Kimura. Of the two, Kimura has less coins and less cards, so is more easily targettable.
If they remove Kimura, then they deal a pretty crippling blow. If they remove Mikamoto and gave Harimoto/Kimura a chance to get around it, then Abe will be easily convinced. So, they offer Kimura/Harimoto a choice. AkiNao will save Kimura/Mikamoto (by discarding the required cards, or not bidding), if they get valid hands for everyone else.
At this point, if he gets the others to help him, I think Akiyama can starve Kimura of the necessary cards, but I'm not certain. Of course, that relies on the others trusting him... Not an easy task considering how stubborn they have shown themselves to be.

Looks like Kimura group had a field day with those lots.

Yeah, I'll admit that I'm really looking forward to this game's conclusion, largely because I don't think that Kimura group has too much longer of a shelf life as rivals/villains. While theoretically, either, both, or none of them and Yokoya could get the boot after this game, I'm almost certain we haven't seen the last of Yokoya. So I can't wait to see how Akiyama manages to deprive them all of hands, or at least all of Kimura's pawns.
I could see her making it through alone, especially since I doubt she'd risk her own hand. She might even take Robes with her. In any case, I'd say that this game is probably going to be Abe's moment to shine, since that dynamic has been played enough.
We do still have quite a few chapters left before this wraps up, so it could still go plenty of places, plot-wise.
Edit for Chapter 162: I'll admit, I'm sort of confused and frustrated by the fact that no one (not even Nao) has thought to draft a legal document that would protect the 4 players with cards but no hands. Seriously, the entire problem of trust could be solved if they just borrowed a bit from the Second Round, saved 2 of them, and then had 2 others move on.
I suppose Akiyama has some brilliant plan to accomplish as much, and just isn't sharing it yet.

Why should I involve myself in a contract if I can save myself at minimal cost? Almost duped that other guy. And if we're going to have a contract, let's have ME get the coins, pay MY debts off, and let YOU continue playing the Liar Game Tournament.
Yes, I can see why they're flocking to make contracts.

Edit for Chapter 162: [Read above if you really want to know...] This would be one of those times that it would be good to double-post. If you edit a full week after the post, people won't see that it's been edited. On the topic of LG, I was pretty sure Akiyama's tiff with Kawai was all a ruse to get the other group to actually care about what was going on and to trust him. They're using that and likely numbers to make whats-her-face give up all their coins and keep the coins in the hands of the losers, so they can go out with little debt. As a last-minute "let's save you guys" move, he may auction off some of his own cards to get multiple people ranked and screw over Harimoto-group. Then he and Nao "leave" the game but come back in by taking on other people's debts. That's my prediction.

Yeah, I can see how making contracts would be a pain because of self-interest, but seriously, at least that way ONE of the two of you would get out. Heck, they could even have the one who makes it out be done by coin flip after the contract was signed.
As for double posting.... I feel like I'm never gonna get this one right, and that's fine by me.

Yes... a coin flip... There would definitely be no rigging done there or arguments, no! Why, you could even record the coin flip with the handy-dandy camera you always carry around and have that be the proof that the contract says one thing and not another! There's no way someone would edit a video for something stupid like that. But seriously, on the terms of contracts, knowing some things about ambiguous and suggestive wording, I would say a contract doesn't necessarily guarantee anything, even if it is signed. Especially if no one really knows about its existence, so who can enforce it? Add onto that other shenanigans like the Fukunaga trick last time it was tried, and I doubt they'll be quite happy with a simple contract. Remember: with every contract comes at least one loophole. As for double-posting... don't worry about it. There is no rule on this forum against double-posting. If it's a change made quickly after you made the post that would be simpler if added in an edit, that's preferable. But there's no rule against double-posting (though in certain games there are rules against editing/deleting posts).

I saw there was a new post here and rushed over to see if a new chapter came out. There wasn't, so I came back to see what the new post said. Needless to say... That was... disappointing.

Again nothing... And again a break. Kaitani didn't procrastinate and draw several pointless chapters (with 2-3 important sentences each) in a row before, did he? And the fact that those chapters are further separated by breaks makes it even worse.

I actually thought it was a nice chapter, myself. Good ole philosophy.
