Round 5 BiddingStarting at the top, Alydar takes down the pair of threes, moving them over to Nakamura Kaori's section of the wall, taking 30 coins (15 each) from Nakamura. Next comes the gigantic Jack of Hearts, Queen of Spades, and 5 of Diamonds, stapled onto 10k's wall for a measly 7 coins each (total of 21). Finally, Alydar lifts the 8 of Spades to reveal the Black Joker on its back and staples it behind... 10k yet again (for another 7 coins)! This Black Joker allows the owner to steal a single card from another player, chosen by PMing the dealer. Like the other joker, it is discarded and out of play once used but remains the shown card (8 of Spades) until then. If both jokers are played in the same round, the Red Joker acts first and is discarded. Current Hands10k - Ace of Hearts, King of Spades, Queen of Spades, Jack of Clubs, Jack of Hearts, 10 of Diamonds, 10 of Spades, 8 of Spades, 7 of Spades, 6 of Spades, 5 of Diamonds, 5 of Spades, 4 of Hearts = 39 points. Morte - Jack of Diamonds, 10 of Diamonds, 9 of Hearts, 8 of Diamonds, 8 of Hearts, 7 of Diamonds, 7 of Hearts, 6 of Hearts, 5 of Clubs, 4 of Clubs, 4 of Diamonds = 33 points Nakamura Kaori - 3 of Clubs, 3 of Hearts, 3 of Spades = 9 points MarkQuestion - King of Clubs, King of Diamonds, King of Hearts = 9 points 10k has 130 coins left, adding an extra 6 points to total 45. Morte has a single coin left to add no points to his 33. Nakamura Kaori has 205 coins left, adding an extra 10 points to total 19. MarkQuestion has 100 coins left, adding 5 points to total 14. And remember, you can discard unneeded cards that you think others may want to get coins from them! If you want, that is... Round 6 LotsThis round ends in about 48 hours from this post. Please PM me your bids or that you're abstaining.

Round 6 BiddingLet's get this out of the way, triplet down! Alydar takes all three 2's and brings them to the wall, stapling them up behind Nakamura Kaori, taking 30 coins for each one (totaling 90). Then comes the pair of Queens, brought to 10k's wall for... 7 coins each. Who would've guessed it? And 10k even gets a second 8 of Spades to add to his collection (for an extra 7 coins, totaling 21 this round)! Congratulations! This game seems to be nearing a close, but it's only two-thirds in. Round 7 BiddingAlydar shakes his head in disappointment. He stares at the players, asking a simple question: "What are you doing?" It's the same thing 10k is thinking as he receives all 6 cards from this round's bidding for a measly 50 coins all-in-all (20 coins on the 10, 6 on every other). 10k, taking advantage of the lack of thought from the players, pulls his 8 of Spades/Joker from the wall and hands it to Alydar. "You know what, I think I want the other Joker instead. Thanks, Morte! Can't say I didn't warn you!" Alydar takes the 10 of Diamonds/Joker from Morte and staples it up behind 10k instead. And with that, the round concludes... In case people somehow aren't seeing the ends of rounds, I'll post here again, so it appears on the front page! (instead of that gosh-darned FAQ) You have about 23 hours to send in your bids. Or tell me that you're abstaining if you are.

Round 8 BiddingAlydar sighs, holding up a piece of paper with the results of the round printed on them. He reads them in a monotone voice, "In this round, once again, all the cards went to 10k. How unexpec- Wait, what?" His eyes shoot up and down the paper as he sees something that interests him. "Never mind! We have competition here! MarkQuestion has won not one, but four cards this round! 10k is left with the measly 7 and 6 while MQ takes the high cards. Things may be heating up in what looks to be a race for 3rd place! Who will take the lesser penalty against Morte and who the large loss to 10k? We're back in this game, ladies and gentlemen! Stayed tuned for the penultimate round!" Oh, and 10k's card were each won at one coin each, leaving him down 2 coins from this round. MQ bought his pair of Aces at 10 coins each and the other cards at 7 coins each, leaving him down 34. Please PM me your bids or that you're abstaining. A note of warning ahead of time. There will be a 24 hour period of discarding for the final auction. If you think you may discard cards for that round, you should start planning now. You may discard them for Round 10 either during the 48 hours of this round or the 24 hour in between rounds.

The round will be extended until I wake up in the morning to post. Make good use of your extension: it's the last round... barring someone actually discarding, that is. You have at most 10 hours from this post, likely less.

Round 9 Bidding
Alydar ends the round with a clap of his hands, collecting the bids and tallying the points. "Now, it seems we still have a slight fight left in this game. MarkQuestion... wins a total of 2 cards this round! This brings him up... to fourth place. How regrettable. There's always next round? Or is there?" Alydar takes the two 9s from the wall and staples them up behind MarkQuestion, taking 10 coins for each card. "Well, ahaha, it seems the remaining cards go to 10k. Who would've thunk it? 1 coin, 1 coin... 1 coin... and. Oh, not 1 coin. 52, is it? Here you go, you big spender!" The 10 goes to 10k for 52 coins (how interesting, 10k with all the 10s...), and the remaining 3 cards also go to him for 1 coin each.
Current Hands 10k - Ace of Clubs, Ace of Hearts, King of Spades, Queen of Clubs, Queen of Diamonds, Queen of Spades, Jack of Clubs, Jack of Hearts, 10 of Clubs, 10 of Diamonds, 10 of Diamonds, 10 of Hearts, 10 of Spades, 9 of Clubs, 8 of Clubs, 8 of Spades, 7 of Clubs, 7 of Spades, 6 of Clubs, 6 of Diamonds, 6 of Spades, 5 of Diamonds, 5 of Hearts, 5 of Spades, 4 of Hearts, 4 of Spades, 3 of Diamonds, 2 of Diamonds = 169 points Morte - Jack of Diamonds, 9 of Hearts, 8 of Diamonds, 8 of Hearts, 7 of Diamonds, 7 of Hearts, 6 of Hearts, 5 of Clubs, 4 of Clubs, 4 of Diamonds = 28 points Nakamura Kaori - 3 of Clubs, 3 of Hearts, 3 of Spades, 2 of Clubs, 2 of Hearts, 2 of Spades = 18 points MarkQuestion - Ace of Diamonds, Ace of Spades, King of Clubs, King of Diamonds, King of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, Jack of Spades, 9 of Diamonds, 9 of Spades = 19 points
10k has 2 coins left, adding no points to his total of 169. Morte has a single coin left to add no points to his 28. Nakamura Kaori has 115 coins left, adding an extra 5 points to total 23. MarkQuestion has 46 coins left, adding 2 points to total 21.
And remember, you can discard unneeded cards that you think others may want to get coins from them! If you want, that is...
Final Lots You have 24 hours to decide whether or not you will be discarding any cards. I hope you have been thinking about this during the previous round. This will be the final round for bidding, and your final chance to get points. Of course, that's only if someone uses this chance to discard any cards...

Discard Round LotsAs I believe you would expect, 10k was the only person to discard any cards this round. He is currently left with 143 points. You have 48 hours to make bids on these final 6 cards. I suggest you bid, as this will be your last chance to bid on anything in this game. That's right. This is your last chance to turn things around and fight for 2nd through 4th place. So do it!

In case anyone still wants to bid on these remaining 6 cards, this is your reminder. You have about 12 hours to get them in, though I may not update right away. The good reason for that is that I not only have classes from the time this is due until 2 hours afterward, but also that I have quizzes in both of those classes. So the deadline is at 3:01 pm GMT tomorrow (or maybe not tomorrow for most of you or even for GMT, but for me at least). If I have a chance in class or when I'm not running from quiz to quiz, I'll post before 5:00 pm GMT, but I expect to be posting around then. Use your time wisely, as this is the last chance to use these coins given to you for this game. This is the last chance for you to fight for 2nd place, to be a winner, or at least to avoid 4th place, the dreaded last place of -60 Poker Chips. Whatever your goal, whatever you could possibly get, this is your last chance to do it. So come on, take the chance and go with it. Play the game. To the MAXX! ...or stick with your simple strategies and backstabbery and frontstabbery. Whatever your choice, own it and be satisfied with how you ended the game, if not how you did in the middle, or the beginning. Take something away from this game, and use it in the next. Go on! I want you to! ^Read into the above nothing but pure enthusiasm and layover from National Novel Writing Month, a mass of adrenaline, timesuck, and plot bunnies as we prepare for next month. Mix that with randomness and a world of encouragement as people head towards a simple, extreme goal, and you get the idea. So go do it! ^And read into the latter above nothing but shameless advertisement for something that I had a lot of fun doing last year combined with the effects of sleep deprivation. ...and this post got away from me, but the point still remains. You have 12 hours! And join NaNoWriMo!
