So once a square becomes contested, it is essentially a neutral square which nobody can claim?

So once a square becomes contested, it is essentially a neutral square which nobody can claim? Yes. Contested squares end up unclaimed by anybody. Once a square has been Contested, it cannot be claimed.

Q: "How will the first round work, considering the tiebreaker for that round is time? And when do we send in treaties?"I realize the unfairness here, but the initial move will not be the determining point of the game in most cases. The player to win must avoid Contesting again while s/he has the most points. Admittedly, if you all move the same way... then obviously none of you are working together for a treaty. Oh, and then one person does gain a huge lead, but I hope you'd all work to avoid that, hmm? THAT BEING SAID, I will take measures for this. The game will begin, and the board will be shown, colors allotted, etc. I will give a 24 hour planning phase where players can send in treaty decisions, but where any moves will NOT be accepted. 24 hours after that first post, to the minute, the game will begin, and players can send in their moves then. You will have 48 hours from that point to send in your moves and to change your treaties as needed. After those 72 hours in total (24 setup, 48 first round), the second round will begin. I will be allowing a tie for time, based on the time sent, to the minute but not to the second. If there is a tie, those players will split the pot as needed, maybe to the extent where all players sent in their decisions at the same time and no one wins anything. So basically, a 24 hour round for planning, followed by a 48 hour round for sending in decisions, and during those 72 hours, players can send in their treaties if they want. For the second round, no changes to treaties (or new ones) will be accepted. Oh, and a note: If you change your decision for any round, the time changes to whenever you made your last change, so make sure you like your decision.

Could you get multiple treaty trophies if you make treaties with multiple people and uphold all of them?

Could you get multiple treaty trophies if you make treaties with multiple people and uphold all of them? I thought I had that clarified, but apparently it was still ambiguous. Players may only choose one player to make a treaty with. You may not make a treaty with everyone to maximize the chances of getting this trophy... I've gone ahead and adjusted the wording to reflect that. Also, players may only get trophies once. If you would get a trophy which you already have, you don't get it again. Thus, there would be no way to get "multiple treaty trophies." Likewise, players can't get the Skilled Gambler trophy multiple times or something like that.

Do both sides have to reciprocate a treaty?

Do both sides have to reciprocate a treaty? As I tried to explain in the Sample Game, both sides do not have to reciprocate a treaty. Player A could treaty with Player B while Player B treaties with Player C. If Players A and B are never contest but B and C do, A gets the Treaty trophy and B does not. If A and B contest but B and C don't, B gets the trophy and A does not. Hopefully that's cleared up now!

As it's looking like I'll end up in third place, does that mean I will neither win nor lose anything? XD

As it's looking like I'll end up in third place, does that mean I will neither win nor lose anything? XD Let's see... third place in a 4+ player game wins the difference between 3rd place and 3rd-to-last place... (assuming numbers don't change) 7 minus 7 is... well, I guess you'll have to pay Iain7 a whopping 0 Poker Chips!
