Dice Table
Something seems to be missing. You've been searching the Casino and yet you have yet to find a table with a dice gamble. Finally, after searching for a long time, you spot one: a Dice Table, in the far corner of the room. Only a few people are sitting down, but they are definitely gambling money based on their dice roll. However, on closer inspection, the dice are blank! And to top it off, they've been prearranged by the players! What madness is this?
It does sound interesting though, arranging your dice to do battle with an opponent. And, since it's simply a strategy game, you should do well, so you challenge one of the onlookers to a match, sure of your victory. They'll have no idea what hit them while you walk away with all their money. The dealer explains the rules before you begin...
Objective:
To "roll" a higher number than your opponent and win more money.
Prize:
Money bet each round.
To signup:
Post in the signup thread that you want to play. You'll be added to the player list and will be chosen to play against someone shortly afterward. In the event of an odd person out, that player will have to wait until someone else joins.
Losers (anyone who has not won money or tied playing this game) may play this game again to try and win back some money assuming there is someone to play against.
Setup:
Each player is given an identical set of 18 dice. The set will be the same for all groups who are playing at the same time but will be different for groups playing at different times (i.e. If we have 10 people sign up and run 5 games, each will have the same set of dice. If we then have 8 more people sign up, those 4 games will have the same set of dice but a different set from the people in the first group). Each die has 5 blank sides and one numbered (dotted) side. The numbered side has a number of dots varying from one to six designed as a normal die. Each player also has six "hands:" boards with space for five dice each. There is one space which has a red border around it.
Each player must place his 18 dice in the six hands, numbered side down. The placement of these dice matters little except for a single die: the one placed in the red-bordered spot, henceforth called the "Leading Die." The rest of the dice are used in the endgame to determine the winners of each respective round. Until then, only the Leading Dice are ever revealed. Each hand must have at least one die and a maximum of five dice.
The setup phase lasts for 72 hours after which the game will begin.
At the beginning of the game, only the number of dice in each hand will be revealed to the opposing player. The Leading Dice are hidden to be revealed later.
Gameplay:
You will be arranged in groups of 2 with each person playing against the other. There will besix five rounds rotating between Defending and Attacking, starting with Defending. Each round lasts 48 hours. The third Attacking Round (as there is only one hand left for each player to choose from) takes no time.
The player who wins the most money, regardless of how many battles that player won, is considered the winner of the game. If both players won the same amount of money, they are both considered winners and may not replay this game.
EDIT (from the FAQ): Each hand may only be used once. In other words, you start off with 6 hands. In the first turn, each player chooses a hand to defend with. This hand is put onto the table, and the Leading Die is revealed to the other player. On the next turn, each player chooses a different hand to attack with. This hand is put onto the table, opposite the opponent's previously played hand, and the Leading Die is revealed to the other player. Based on the Leading Dice, the betting for those two battles are determined.
Those four hands (two per player) stay on the field, and the next Defending Round will begin. Once again, each player chooses a hand to defend with, and the Leading Die is revealed. Then, on the following turn, they choose a hand to attack with, the Leading Die is revealed, and the betting is determined. There are now four battles, consisting of eight of the original twelve hands (four out of six from each player). However, none of these battles has been determined, and only the Leading Dice are visible in each hand.
In the next round, each player chooses a hand to defend with, and the Leading Die is revealed. As each player now has only one hand left, the final Attacking Round takes place immediately, and the game begins to resolve. All the dice are revealed, and the winning hands for each battle are determined. The wins and losses are totaled, and the player who wins most overall is the winner.

You will be arranged in groups of 2 with each person playing against the other. There will be
- Defending: Each player chooses a hand to defend with. The Leading Die will be the only revealed die in the hand.
- Attacking: Each player chooses a hand to attack the hand which the other player chose in the previous Defending Round. As before, only the Leading Die will be revealed for this hand.
- Betting: Each round's bet is calculated as follows: 5M yen plus an extra 5M yen per number difference between the Leading Dice of the two hands. In other words, if both Leading Dice are 1s, the round is worth 5M yen. However, if one is a 1 and the other is a 6, the round is worth 30M yen.
- Resolution: Once all six rounds have been completed, the dice will be revealed and added up, and the player with the stronger hand wins the respective bet. Until all battles have been determined, the only visible dice are the Leading Dice.

Inactivity:
- If a player does not send in a hand in the setup phase or sends in a hand with no dice in it, any empty hands are filled by taking the hand with the highest strength and splitting it in half as closely as possible.
- If a player sends in a hand in the setup phase with more than 5 dice (the maximum), the extra dice are removed, strongest to weakest until the hand only consists of 5 dice. These are revealed and put out of play. If one of the revealed dice is the Leading Die, follow inactivity rules as discussed below.
- If a player does not use all 18 dice in the setup phase, the unused dice are revealed and put out of play.
- If a player does not declare a Leading Die, it will be determined from the hand by priority. Priority is as follows: 6, 1, 5, 2, 4, 3.
- If player does not send in a hand to attack or defend, the hand with the highest strength is discarded. The replacement hand used to attack or defend consists of a single die, either a 1 or a 6, whichever one would yield the maximum bet for the round.
- If a player has less than 6 hands even after all other inactivity rules have been followed out (i.e. if only one hand was sent in consisting of 5 dice, if no dice are sent in, or something of that nature), that player's hands are filled with a single die, the smallest unused one.
- Whenever any of these inactivity rules needs to be used, any and all pertinent information (i.e. rule, player, and hand number) will be announced to both players in the respective game thread.
