So, I have some bad news. In the middle of Directionally Challenged, I was informed that LGT3 has been indefinitely postponed for lack of a dealer. I decided it was best to wait for the conclusion of DC, so we could decide where to go with the Casino now.
For those of you who are new to this forum, this was supposed to be a rather short intermission between the end of LGT2 and the upcoming LGT3 that was to be run by Nearco and Forli, plus a few other dealers. As it grew ever closer to being run, dealers kept being unable to find the time to devote to the forum and actually running the games. As of right now, the games are pretty much complete, but there is no dealer who can run the tournament. Thus, it has been indefinitely postponed, and I can't assure that it will be run.
So, why doesn't Alydar (me) pick it up, you may ask? Well, I have my own commitments, and I originally wasn't planning on running any games going into the school year. Obviously, I still am, but that's because I've made a commitment to this forum, and I'm sticking with it until the end. I don't think I can do the same for LGT3. Add onto that the extra difficulty of not knowing just what the dealers for LGT3 have planned, I would rather leave this to them than pick up the pieces. It will be a better experience if they run it, or so I believe.
That doesn't mean the tournament won't be run, just that I can't tell you when it will be run. I'm currently working on my own tournament, and if I finish before any other dealer is available to run LGT3, I'll run one and then the other to avoid this kind of delay between them. But for now, there is no tournament being run.
That brings us to the big question of: what does that mean for the Casino? As I've said before, I'm running this until the end, but the end is up to the players. We've had two new players who I believe are interested in trying out the games. We have three old players who have lasted when all others have left. If we continue, I will be reopening past games for players to sign up for again. Yes, this includes Dice Table.
But that only matters if you all are interested in continuing. If you don't want to play these games and devote your time to them, I understand, and we can end this forum here and now (or whenever you all decide or participation dwindles). It will just mean I'll have more time to devote to designing games. I have 2 or 3 made, and I'll definitely need more. That being said, I won't be releasing new games on this forum.
So you have two choices:
1) End this forum here because there's not much to look forward to. Most of the games have been played, there aren't many people around, and LGT3 may not even be happening, and if it is, it may be a long while from now. I have your contact information, so I'll be sure to inform you when LGT3 begins recruitment. If there's one game (e.g. Cee-lo) that you want run, I'll do that before ending the forum.
2)Continue for some undefined period of time. The previous games (On A Roll, Dice Table, Card Auction, and even Directionally Challenged, if you really want it) will be reopened for players who have already played them. With only 5 people around, we'll need all of them. Meanwhile, to keep up the variety, if you make minigames, you can present them, and I'll run them. I can also figure out how Pinball Wizard can work for a 4 or 5 player game. Of course, when you guys decide the Casino shall end is when it does, though if we lose our active players, there won't be much of a choice.
I'm leaving this up to you guys. What do you want to do with this forum? It's been fun while it's lasted, but it's gone on much longer than it was intended to, and most of the games have already been completed. If you're okay with playing them again, that's fine with me. If there are other games you want me to run, present them. If you want to replay games from other tournaments or websites, find them, link me the rules, and I'll see what I can do to make it work. Otherwise, we can be done with this, and I'll keep you up-to-date by email about the LGT3.
Thank you all for sticking around, good luck, and I hope you've had a great time! Whether we continue or not is all up to you now. Opinions?
