This time around, there are no bins. The gamblers don't know it, though. From their point of view, there scenario is pretty much the same as it was back on the initial playing area. But in reality, they are simply standing there in silence, with their eyes closed.
They are communicating, yes, but no word is being spoken. It's not telepathy as some could probably imagine. It's a way of spiritual talking through their own feelings and thoughts. They share them subconsciously, complex stuff.
The moment they decide on a vote, it reaches Forli through the voice of their hearts. In some cases, the vote reached him even before they were aware that they had made their minds. At a given moment, the dealer materializes at the playing area.
"The seventh round is now over. " he announces. A particular gambler freaks out.
"Wait! I haven't placed my vote yet!". In a rush, his spirit self grabs a pencil. Forli stops him with a gesture and tells him he did place it an hour ago. The man drops the pencil after a few seconds of silence and stares at the dealer in confusion. And then he nods.
Suddenly, a message reaches the gamblers' minds:
"ShadowFire has casted a vote of 6 but he is restricted by Kokuryu.
10k has casted a vote of 60. He is removed by Iain7, thus making it impossible for him to win.
Morte has casted a vote of 4.
Kokuryu has casted a vote of 0. He is restricted by Iain7, though nothing changes.
Iain7 has casted a vote of 0. He is restricted by ShadowFire, changing nothing.
MarkQuestion did not cast a vote.
Therefore, the total is 64, which divided by 6 is 10 with a remainder of 4. This means that, yet again, Iain7 manages to score a point and gets further in the lead. "
The celestial scoreboard updates:
0. ShadowFire (2 + 1 + 2) – 0 points
1. 10k (1 + 1 + 1) – 0 points
2. Morte (2 + 1 + 2) – 0 points
3. Kokuryu (3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1) – 0 points
4. Iain7 (6 + 1 + 5 gold chips) – 5 points
5. MarkQuestion (6 + 2 + 1 + 1 gold chip) – 1 point
"Congratulations yet again, Iain7. You are an impressive gambler and the overall winner of this game. I was right before: you are the one the prophecies spoke of. The fifth guardian... and the seventh. "
"Guardian?" asks Iainseven "Guardian of what?"
"Of everything that once was and all that will be. By playing and winning this game, you are all changing history."
"How?" asks another gambler "How can that be true? We're just placing numbers and chips on a bin."
"It matters not what you're doing. You could be playing tic-tac-toe for all it matters. What's important here is exposing your potential. You are all using you're mind to fight each other in the truest sense. Well, not MarkQuestion. He's just spirit drooling. But the rest of you are struggling to release the hidden power in your minds. For you... all of you... have this particular gift that needs to be discovered."
Silence. No one really knows how to answer something like that. One of the gamblers eventually asks something.
"Where are we? Is this the afterlife?"
"No. This is Cygnus OB2-12, LGT's last hiding place. However, "where" is not the question you should be asking. The real questions should be... when and why. I will take my leave now. Try to think about those two questions while you play the eight tound. They are utterly important. Goodbye."
Forli looks at Iain and vows at him. And with that, he vanishes again, leaving even more questions than before.
Round 8 will finish in 36 hours. That is, the usual time. If anyone has a problem with that, say so and I'll extend it to 48 hours.
Edit: Oh and the best roleplay thing still applies. I'm winning so far.
