This time I'm proposing a minigame! Because I want to test something.
The game should be familiar to most of you, but running it online is obviously gonna be different.
The game begins with a setup phase. This is similar to the first stage of the manga equivalent, where you all run off and find chairs. However, instead of finding chairs, you each are given a chair and can "hide" it wherever you want. To hide your chair, you PM me with a password. THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A PASSWORD FOR ANYTHING ELSE. It doesn't have to relate to anything on the site or any other site. As long as you could post it without violating ProBoards ToC, it can be anything you want. Also note that you will probably want to share it.
Once I have a password from you, I will PM you a seat number. The seat number is associated with the password, so you should treat them as attached. You will also receive a number of medals equal to the number of players in the game, each with your name on them.
Once this is over, we will proceed to the main game. From this point on, the game will always be in one of two phases: The Seating Phase or The Voting Phase. After setup, we will begin with the Seating Phase.
Seating Phase:
During this phase, each non-eliminated player will have 48 hours to PM me with a chair number and the corresponding password. You may not send in the same chair number that you did last round. On the first round, you may not send in the same chair number that you received during the setup round.
After 48 hours are up, I will announce any players that either did not PM me, PM'd me a chair number but not the corresponding password, or PM'd me a chair number that had been removed (see Voting Phase). These players will be eliminated.
Also, in the same PM, you may request that the chair you sent in gains a new password. This will only happen if you correctly give the old password.
If two or more players both send in the same chair number and the correct password, they will have 24 hours to send in a new chair number and the corresponding password. They may not sit in the same chair they just tried, and they may not sit in the chair they sat in during the previous round. If they sit in the same seat again, they are both eliminated. Furthermore, they may not sit in either chair they attempted to sit in during this round during the next round.
Example: Because the last point was a bit weird, let's say we have players A and B, and the remaining chairs include 3, 5 and 7. A and B sat in chairs 5 and 7 respectively last round. This round, they both attempt to sit in chair number 3. During the extra 24 hours, A sits in chair 7 (since he can't sit in 3 or 5), and B sits in chair 5 (since he can't sit in chair 3 or 7). During the next round, A can't sit in chair 3 or 7, and B can't sit in chair 3 or 5.
Once the Seating Phase is over, we will proceed to the Voting Phase, unless there are 0 or 1 players left, in which case, the game will end.
Voting Phase:
During this phase, you have 48 hours to PM me the name of a non-eliminated player. Players who have been eliminated may also PM me. Additionally, in the same PM, send me the number of the chair you want eliminated. At the end of the 48 hour period, I will announce the number of votes for each player. I will then remove 2 votes from each player who has received the most votes in a previous round (this is cumulative, so if you receive 5 votes, and have been vote-winner twice in previous rounds, you would be treated as only receiving 1 vote). Finally, the player with the most votes who also sent in a chair number will have that chair removed.
If a player does not send in a chair number, all votes for that player will be ignored.
Once the Voting Phase is over, we will proceed to the Seating Phase.
End game:
The game ends when there is either 0 or 1 players who haven't been eliminated.
Entry fee/Payout:
To get in the game costs you 5 poker chips. Once the game ends, each player receives 5 poker chips for each medal they own with the winner's name on it. A player can not win more than 30 coins this way (if a player would win more than 30 coins, he receives only 30 coins instead).
As an extra bonus, because I'm feeling generous, if the winner gave out exactly one medal to each other player (such that all players have one medal with the winner's name on it), I will give the winner an extra 5 poker chips. (Which would result in every player other than the winner having lost 5 chips for the entry fee and gained 5 chips from the medal, zero-ing them out, except for the winner, who walks away with an entire 5 chips!!!!)
Questions? Interest? (Alydar wanting to change things?)
